3 Kings Grooming was founded in 2019 by three brothers; Michael, Brandon & Eric Nwankwo. With the vision of paying homage to the origins of the African diaspora, ‘The Motherland’, we began with focusing on hair and grooming, a common symbol of status, spirituality, and royalty within many ancient African civilizations.

With this, came the birth of our staple product, the ‘Afro Pick’. We have chosen this as an authentic emblem of our connection as members of the African Diaspora.

For 3 Kings Grooming, we created two campaigns for winter and fall of 2022. These were the first full visual campaigns done for the business designed to showcase their products while tied to specific themes.

Your Roots Are Royal - Black History Month ’22

Our goal for this campaign was to showcase the 3 Kings Grooming products while telling a story of the history of black culture. The evolution of black culture starting from its roots in Africa through America in the black fight for freedom, showcasing modern day cultural expression, and finally, ending with an interpretation of black future. Each era of the campaign, tying back to the idea that “Your Roots Are Royal“.
For the 4 week campaign we sought to highlight 4 short fashion films alongside stunning photography, dedicated to each era of culture.

We built out the platform used on Shopify, a popular online sales platform. Rated the #1 e-commerce platform for businesses, it allows for integrations with the top social media platforms.

The campaign started with the owners of the brand, wanting to portray a black revolutionary visual to entice the audience that a “revolution” is coming with this new campaign.

With this segment, we wanted to showcase where it all began, in Africa… The motherland. The place where culture is so deeply rooted, and the long history of Grooming tools first came to life.

The modern era, where black culture has never been more prominent in America than now is used here to showcase how we merge fashion and Grooming into one.

EMAIL CAMPAIGN

In order to nurture past clients and the growing email list, we created a series called “Royal Reads.” This weekly email series used to educate on current hair, fashion and cultural trends and also allowed for product advertisement.
